Privacy

Last updated: October 3, 2026. This Privacy Notice explains the limited information this website processes to operate reliably, understand how the site is used, maintain its security, and protect against misuse or abuse.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand general traffic and usage patterns. This helps the website owner evaluate which content visitors find useful and identify broader trends related to site performance, navigation, and engagement. Google may receive technical and usage-related information from visitors, including identifiers created or used by its services. GA4 is configured to retain user-level event data for 2 months. Aggregate reports may remain available for a longer period in accordance with Google's applicable terms, settings, and data retention policies.

Page and Post View Counters and Post Email Notifications

Page and post view counters use a dedicated D1 database to maintain aggregate counts for supported site routes. Page views and post views share the same aggregate table, but only counted post views are eligible for operational email notifications. Dated post URLs are mapped to their historical slug-only storage key so an existing post count is preserved after the permalink migration.

When a counted post view reaches the configured notification interval, Cloudflare may provide a country code, such as US. That transient metadata can be included in a notification sent through Resend together with the post title, canonical dated post URL, current post count, and the total recorded views across posts. Normal page views do not trigger these emails.

The aggregate D1 table stores only the normalized route key, aggregate view count, and record timestamps. It does not create a per-view event row. The country code and other transient notification metadata are not written to that D1 table. This feature does not intentionally store raw IP addresses, user-agent strings, referrers, cookie identifiers, or browser fingerprints. Notification emails and their metadata may remain in the website owner's email account and may be processed or retained by Resend and the receiving email service under their respective settings, terms, and retention policies. Reloading a page or returning later may increment its aggregate counter again, so these are page-view counts, not unique-visitor counts. Aggregate counts may be retained indefinitely unless manually reset or deleted.

Giscus Comments

Blog comments are provided through Giscus, which connects to GitHub Discussions on pages where the comments section is loaded. If you choose to leave a comment, GitHub and Giscus process the account and discussion information necessary to provide this functionality. This website does not maintain a separate copy of your Giscus comments. Discussion content may remain available until it is removed and is also subject to GitHub's applicable terms and data retention policies.

Cloudflare Turnstile

The contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate submissions from automated or abusive activity. Turnstile processes the technical signals necessary to perform this verification. The website validates the Turnstile token on the server and does not store that token in the application's database. Information processed by the Turnstile service is handled and retained in accordance with Cloudflare's applicable policies and service terms.

Contact Submissions

When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent to the website owner through the website's email provider to allow the owner to respond to your inquiry and maintain any related correspondence. This website does not maintain a separate database of messages submitted through the contact form. Correspondence is generally retained for up to 12 months after the last relevant interaction. It may be retained for a longer period when reasonably necessary to support an ongoing professional relationship, investigate a security-related matter, resolve a dispute, or comply with a legal obligation.

File Download Telemetry

File download routes collect a limited amount of operational telemetry for purposes such as counting downloads, investigating potential abuse, and tracking aggregate download milestones. A telemetry event may include the requested file variant, a country code provided by Cloudflare, the referring origin or path, a request identifier, the user-agent string, and a timestamp. This website does not intentionally store raw IP addresses. Detailed event records stored in the database are retained for 90 days. Aggregate counters may be retained indefinitely. Cloudflare platform logs and Analytics Engine data are retained in accordance with the account settings, service configuration, and retention terms applicable to the Cloudflare services in use.
